Ok to use third party usb c cables?

Hello. I have a Ghost, which uses USB C. I recently read that using 3rd party charging cables may damage a phone's charging port or cause the phone to overheat. Is this true in the case of the ghost? Do you sell extra ghost charging cables? If not can you direct us to 3rd party cables that won't do damage? Thanks.
