Certain problems can only be resolved after rebooting your phone in safe mode. If your phone is performing poorly, yet is fine in safe mode, the problem can be boiled down to one of the third-party apps that have been downloaded onto your phone.
To reboot in safe mode:
- Press and hold the Power button.
- Tap and hold Power off.
- When the Reboot to safe mode prompt appears, tap OK.
Your device will then reboot and it will say “Safe mode” in the bottom-left corner.
While in safe mode, you are able to use your phone's main features and functionality. If the issue is not present during typical usage in Safe mode, you can uninstall apps one by one in order to find the root cause - namely which app is causing the problem. Alternatively, you can also perform a factory reset and then install apps one at a time to determine which app is causing the problem.
